Traditional Shona Song Lyrics

Singing is an integral part of life in Zimbabwe. Our rangers sing to celebrate, to mourn, and to remember. This song is one of celebration, sung when recruits graduate. It compares our Akashinga rangers to lions; reflecting their power and role as the overseer of the wildlife around them. This item consists of the lyrics written out by one of our rangers in Shona (the local language) with the translation in English on the reverse.
